About Us

We’ve grown to a membership of 1,000 individuals, reflecting a diverse composition of genders and age groups. Specifically, 600 members, or 60%, are females, while 400 members, or 40%, are males. Furthermore, the cooperative is proud to highlight that 850 members, or 85%, are youth, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to engaging and empowering the younger generation in agricultural activities.

How We Got Started

Say No-To Hunger Farmers’ Multipurpose Cooperative Society (SNoTHFaMCo) is a Nimba County-based cooperative society dedicated to Mixed Farming which includes vegetable production, aggregation, animal husbandry (pork and goat farming), rice farming, oil palm, and provision of financial and technical support to its members. This cooperative society was established with the aim of promoting sustainable agriculture practices and ensuring food security in the local community.

Through its various agricultural activities, SNoTHFaMCo has not only contributed to the economic development of the region but has also empowered local farmers with the necessary skills and resources to improve their livelihoods. With a strong focus on inclusivity and community engagement, SNoTHFaMCo has become a trusted and reliable partner for farmers in Nimba County.

Say No-To-Hunger Farmers’ Multipurpose Cooperative Society (SNoTHFaMCo) is headquartered at Wlehlenlah Town, Nimba County, Liberia. The cooperative has been successful in providing the Liberian market with a consistent supply of fresh vegetable crops, livestock, rice, and other agricultural products for over six years.

What began with just two individuals has now grown to include a membership of 1,000 individuals, reflecting a diverse composition of genders and age groups. Specifically, 600 members, or 60%, are females, while 400 members, or 40%, are males. Furthermore, the cooperative is proud to highlight that 850 members, or 85%, are youth, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to engaging and empowering the younger generation in agricultural activities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to become the industry lead in producing and supplying nutritious and organic mixed farm produce (vegetables, piggery and poultry products, rice, oil palm, etc) on the Liberian market at fair prices while exceeding customer expectations.

We also endeavor to empower at least 5000 women (mainly single mothers and widows), girls, and youths and provide sustainable food security over the next five years; support them through training, finances, extension services, their participation and involvement in sustainable agricultural programs and activities that will transform they and their households’ lives.

This will be accomplished by producing and supplying high-quality fresh farm produce at fair prices while exceeding customer expectations.

Our Mission

Say No-To-Hunger Farmers’ Multipurpose Cooperative has identified three objectives to pursue:

  • To reduce over the next five years, the financial burdens/ difficulties of our members and take at least 5000 women and youths out of poverty through financial independence by engaging in massive production and aggregation of mixed vegetables and expanding our operations into five other counties.
  • Stimulate the production and aggregations of fresh and nutritional farm products to serve as a pathway out of poverty;
  • Strive to reach the point of sustainable profitability by 100%.

Say No-To-Hunger Farmers’ Multipurpose Cooperative will achieve these three objectives through its business model of operating its own farm, developing high-quality seed nurseries for own-use and sales to members and other farm produce, providing financial(VSLA) and technical assistance to members, breeding high-quality livestock (piggery and poultry) and identifying niche market to sell its products.

Keys to success

Say No-To-Hunger Farmers’ Multipurpose Cooperative has identified three keys as its critical success factors (CSF):

  • The first is the implementation of strict financial controls. By having proper financial controls, production efficiency will be maximized.
  • The second key is the never-ending pursuit of being the industry lead in mixed vegetables and aggregation.
  • The third key is recognizing and implementing the philosophy that 100% members and 100% customer satisfaction are required to ensure a profitable business. Say No-To-Hunger Farmers’ Multipurpose Cooperative believes that profit is a by-product of satisfying members and customers, not the other way around.
