Rice Production
Currently, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, the cooperative is implementing the production of locally grown rice on 505.29 hectares of lowland.
Regional Rice Farming
In a region where rice is a staple food, SNoTHFaMCo plays a significant role in local rice farming. They meticulously cultivate rice paddies, adopting modern techniques while respecting traditional farming methods. We aim to boost regional rice production and reduce dependence on imports, thereby enhancing food security in Nimba and other counties in Liberia. The rice we produce is not just a grain; it’s a symbol of self-sufficiency and resilience
Currently, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, the cooperative is implementing the production of locally grown rice on 505.29 hectares of lowland. This initiative is benefiting 81 farming groups, with a total membership of 4,337. By focusing on rice production, the cooperative aims to further enhance food security in Liberia and reduce the country’s dependency on imported rice. Additionally, this expansion will create more opportunities for smallholder farmers, contributing to their economic growth and development. In 2023 alone, we supported 15,685 individual farmers who produced 85, 000 metric tons of rice.
